Owls class had an amazing Greek day. All the children (and class staff) came to school dressed in Greek attire. Mrs Williment came dressed as Medusa, no less!
The children played an Ancient Greek trading game-a team game designed to teach about the politics and social development of island culture. They also learned to write in Ancient Greek and they joined the school of Pythagoras for a maths investigation of the rule for Pythagoras' theorem (lengths of sides of right-angled triangles). They made nets of the 5 platonic solids, made masks of Medusa, feasted on authentic foods, recited poetry at the feast and heard the story of Odysseus' return to Ithaca.
Thanks to all the parents who contributed to the banquet of olives, pitta bread and all manner of Greek culinary delights, and to those who helped on the day.
