Tuesday February 10th is Safer Internet Day.
It is celebrated each year across Europe and in other countries worldwide. In the UK, Safer Internet Day is organised by the UK Safer Internet Centre, and this year's theme is 'Let's create a better internet together.'
On Tuesday, all children at Horsley will be learning more about keeping safe on-line. This is in addition to our continuous e-safety programme which is taught throughout the year, alongside age appropriate activities.
The UK Safer Internet Centre has a fantastic array of resources to support parents at home with on-line safety. With sections on safety tools for social networks, a parent's guide to technology, and setting up parental controls on your home internet, it really is worth a look.
We would always encourage you to talk openly with your child regarding staying safe on-line, particularly when your child begins to show an interest in social media. Thinkuknow is a good place to start a conversation, with a range of videos available to watch with your child and other useful tips for parents.
