New Books chosen by Otters Class on their trip to Nailsworth Library
We have picked some of the best books to help promote cultural diversity. Books can act as both windows through which to see the world and mirrors for readers to see themselves reflected in the pages. The books on this list are selected to help children to see different cultures represented in the stories they read.

Recommendations
If your child has a smart phone or tablet with the Kindle App on, or a Kindle itself, and would like some recommendations for reading material, the following website has 50 recommended reads for each year group – www.booksfortopics.com.
We would like to take this opportunity to say a huge ‘thank you’ for your support in acquiring new books for our school library. FHS have done it again! Our amazing community have donated 65 engaging and inspiring titles, and we cannot wait to reveal them to the children this term.
The school library forms an integral part of our school, and we are very lucky to have this dedicated library space. As well as the kind donations from our local community, we have recently received several new books from the charitable foundation, The Don Hanson Charitable Foundation, and a £300.00 grant from the St. James’ Charitable Foundation.
Books are also available in each classroom and these are refreshed from the main library stock every term, and will include books that complement the class’s current learning, alongside books that children from the class might be keen to read.
