Sport Premium FundingThe Government provides primary schools with PE and Sport Premium funding to improve the quality of physical education, physical activity and sport. The funding is intended to help schools make sustainable improvements that benefit all pupils and encourage healthy, active lifestyles.
Schools can use the funding to improve PE teaching, increase participation in sport and physical activity, broaden the range of sporting opportunities available to pupils, and provide professional development for staff.
At Horsley C of E Primary School, we use our PE and Sport Premium funding to:

Increase participation and engagement in physical activity for all pupils.
Support the least active children to develop confidence and enjoyment in sport.
Increase opportunities for girls to participate in a wide range of physical activities and competitive sport.
Promote inclusion and ensure that all pupils can access high-quality PE and sporting opportunities.
Introduce children to a broader range of sports, including minority and non-traditional activities.
Provide access to inter-school competitions, festivals and sporting events.
Enhance staff knowledge and confidence through high-quality training and professional development.
Extend opportunities for pupils through extracurricular clubs and active play initiatives.

Our aim is to foster a lifelong love of physical activity by providing engaging, inclusive and varied sporting experiences that enable every child to achieve their potential and lead a healthy, active lifestyle.
